This week’s sponsor is Elmwood Table Grapes
Kirsty and Alan Daly bought Elmwood Grapes in November last year. Kirsty is bubbling over with enthusiasm about this new venture, admitting that she knew very little about growing grapes, but totally committed to her product. She and Alan are rapidly becoming experts thanks to wonderful support from the previous owners Barbara and Lloyd Stokes.
Elmwood Grapes grow only table grapes and sell most of their grapes locally. This year’s bumper harvest is ripening about two weeks later than usual as the grapes wait for the Sun to sweeten them.
The earliest variety is Buffalo—a very sweet, dark grape. It will be followed by July Muscat, Italia (a large green grape), Cardinal and Muscat Hamburg as the season progresses. Elmwood grapes are fantastic, sweet and fully flavoured. They will only be available until May. So try them now..

Food of the Week - Coffee
The age-old beverage, coffee, has heavily influenced history and mankind. It is known the world over as a stimulant, and many people are dependant on coffee stay alert for work or study. Were coffee to suddenly disappear, lots of people would be walking around with headaches due to caffeine withdrawal!
On the other hand, there are also many people who are dependant on coffee because they make their living out of making and selling coffee, and a future without coffee would see millions left unemployed, and probably an economy crash.
Coffee-making has become an art,and coffee is always in fashion – it has blended seamlessly into every era since it was first created, and provides an excellent excuse to socialise.
Without coffee, the world would be very different indeed.
